  WEEKLY NEWSLETTER SEPTEMBER 21, 2007

Lord Take My Hand

and Lead Me

Mid-Quarter Grades – I know that it seems like we have just started the year, but mid-quarter grades will be coming out next Monday, September 24th. Make sure to look at them and plan to talk with any of the teachers if you have any early concerns about your child’s progress.

Visit to Concordia College in Ann Arbor – Pastor Adams and Pastor Edwards are planning to take grade 5 – 8 to visit Concordia College in Ann Arbor next Friday, September 28th. They will also visit a scale model of the Old Testament synagogue while there. Each student will need to bring $6.50 for an all-you-can-eat buffet lunch at the Concordia Campus. The students will travel to Ann Arbor in the WLS bus, and will not return until approximately 4:00 p.m., so parents will have to pick up their child around 4:00. If the students get back a lot earlier, they will call their parents for pick-up.

Volleyball – Our 5th and 6th grade volleyball team continues to do well. Plan on coming to their next home match next Monday, September 24. They will be competing against St. John, Kendallville, beginning at 4:15. Come on out and cheer them on.

All proceeds go to the WLS PTL. Information about ticket sales will be sent home soon.

Chapel News Next Wednesday’s Chapel Service (September 26) will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 8:15 a.m., with Mr. Hoyer leading. From Mrs. Staub - Information about the WCCH, the recipient of our August and September Chapel offerings: Our Chapel offerings for August and September are being collected for the Woodburn Christian Children’s Home. The Children’s Home has provided a Christian family environment for the past 35 years, for children who are homeless or who have other special needs. “One-sided” paper needed!  If  your workplace has some paper they want to get rid of that has print on one side, but is blank on the other, we could use it at WLS. Outdated letterhead and other “one-sided” papers are especially useful for running off tests and worksheets.
