Our Mission is Fishin’
Prayer Cards - Each
morning our teachers meet for devotions as we prepare for our day. We also
regularly pray for our students and each school family. The students we prayed
for this week included all of the students who did not return to WLS this year,
including all of our past graduates.
School Pictures – Next
Monday is Picture Day. Order sheets went home earlier this week. The students
should bring them with them on Monday morning for their picture. All students
will have their pictures taken, even those who are not purchasing any of the
photo packages. The 2-day Preschool will have their pictures taken on Picture
Retake Day which will be Thursday, October 16th.
ISTEP Testing – With
picture day next Monday, September 15th, we will begin our ISTEP
testing next Tuesday, September 16th. This will be for all grades, 3rd
to 8th. We should be able to finish all of the tests next week. If
any students are absent for any of the testing, they will need to make up the
tests the following week.
JV Volleyball – Out JV
girls’ volleyball team won their first match against Unity last week. This past
Monday, the girls played St. Paul’s, and also won that match. The girls are
doing great. Come and cheer them on at their two matches next week. They will
both be home matches: Monday against Zion, Decatur and Thursday against
Bethlehem. Both matches will begin at 4:15.
Teachers’ Conference –
Our teachers will be attending the Indiana Teachers’ Conference in Indianapolis
on October 27 and 28. Indiana Lutheran schools will be bringing donations to the
conference to help Cambodian Missionaries. Please read the attached sheet
listing some of the items that they are in need of. You may bring any of these
items to the school up until the Friday before the conference. We will store the
items on the gym stage. Mr. Hoyer will load them in his car and take them down
to Indianapolis when he attends the conference.
