Our Mission is Fishin’
Prayer Cards - Each
morning our teachers meet for devotions as we prepare for our day. We also
regularly pray for our students and each school family. The students we prayed
for this week included Adanery Molina (Pre-K) and Cameron Christen (3rd).
Thank You – Many thanks
to all of the students and families who brought items to be delivered at out
teachers’ conference in Indianapolis. Mr. Hoyer was able to deliver 15 boxes of
items, which will make their way to the Cambodia mission efforts.
Special Chapel Offering
– Our regular chapel offerings for the months of October and November are going
to help with the Ablaze Mission Project. However, on Wednesday, November 12th,
our chapel offerings will go to help the Mike Gorell family here in Woodburn.
Mike, a former WLS student, passed away on Sept. 24th, leaving behind
his wife, Krista, and three children, James, Ashley, and Abby. The chapel
offerings on that day will go to help this family. Please do what you can
to help this family in need.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
– Next Thursday and Friday will be our parent/teacher conferences. School will
dismiss on Thursday at 11:00 with no lunch and no bus service. There will be no
school on Friday. Please check the times for all of your conferences. Letters
with times and dates were sent home today. Please do your best to be there on
time and to keep to the schedule.
Turn Back Your Clocks –
Daylight Savings Time ends November 2nd. Remember to turn your
clocks back on Saturday night so you won’t be late for church Sunday morning.
Woodburn Food Bank – As
we begin November this Saturday and start thinking about Thanksgiving and all
the food we will be eating, it is also time to think about what we can do to
help others. We have heard that the Woodburn Food Bank at the Methodist Church
is in need of food supplies. During the month of November, we would like the
students to bring in canned and boxed food items that we can deliver to the Food
Bank on November 26th. These items will be collected in the
classrooms and then brought to our chapel service that morning.
WLS Association Meeting
– We have set the date and time of our upcoming WLS Association meeting. It will
be held in the school gym on Sunday, November 23rd, beginning at
2:00. More information about what we will be voting on will be coming out very
soon.
