    Our Mission is Fishin’

Prayer Cards - Each morning our teachers meet for devotions as we prepare for our day. We also regularly pray for our students and each school family. The students we prayed for this week included Shawn Kitzmiller (6th), Avah Smith (Pre-K), Allison McConnell (6th), and Jack Warnock (K).

WLS Association Meeting – The WLS Association meeting that we have been talking about for a number of weeks will be this coming Sunday, November 23rd, beginning at 2:00 in the WLS gym.

Basketball to Start – Our JV basketball season is starting. Check out some of our home game dates and times and see if you can come to one of the games and cheer our teams on.

Pizza with the Principal – Mr. Hoyer will take the top sellers in the recent Kleinhenn’s sale out for lunch next Tuesday, November 25th. The top two group of sellers also received Wal-Mart gift cards from the PTL for their efforts. The top sellers include:

WLS Christmas Program -  Mark your calendars and invite the relatives to our Christmas Celebration on Thursday, December 18, starting at 7 pm.  The teachers and students have already begun working hard on this program.

SCRIP NEWS-  Information forms were sent home on Tuesday to all of those who have children at WLS and participate in the scrip program.  These forms tell you how much tuition profit you have accumulated so far this year.  The amount that you receive is 30% of the profit that the school receives at first.  When you have reached $3000 worth of scrip bought, you will get 50% of the profits.   It doesn’t seem like a lot at first, but it really builds up after time.  Your profits account then goes toward your tuition for the 2009-10 school year.   A big thank you goes to Andi Adams who keeps track of all of the paperwork for the scrip program.  Now is the time of year that we will sell a lot of scrip.  They make wonderful gifts and you can use them at the store to purchase gifts.  We do have one sad note:  We have discovered that the .07 off per gallon was only temporary and is no longer available at Wal-Mart, but they are still giving .03 off per gallon.  We are still selling scrip at Zion and Christ Churches on Sundays and in the kitchen everyday that school is open from 7:30 to 9:00.

Choir – Christ Junior choir sings at the 8 am service.  Please meet in choir room at 7:45.  Zion Junior and Primary choir also sing.  Please meet in the fellowship hall at 8:45 to practice.

Acolytes -  Sunday, November 23, acolyte for Zion Lutheran Church – Amanda Gasser.

Chapel News -  Next Wednesday’s chapel service, November 26, will be held at WLS at 8:10 a.m. Mr. Hoyer will lead.  Chapel offerings for the months of October and November will be designated to Ablaze in God’s Word – LCMS World Mission Project.
