Text Box: WOODBURN LUTHERAN SCHOOL
PAW PRINTS
 MARCH 5, 2009

    Our Mission is Fishin’

Prayer Cards - Each morning our teachers meet for devotions as we prepare for our day. We also regularly pray for each of our students. The students we prayed for this week included Mitchell Warnock (3rd), Dakota Adams (1st), Anne Knutson (Pre-K), and Ella Snider (Pre-K).

Wrestling Meets – The boys have been doing very well in their wrestling matches so far. Next Monday, March 9th, will be our last home meet. There will be a total of 6 teams here, so it will be one of the bigger meets of the year. The matches will begin in our gym at 4:15. Come and cheer our team on if you have the opportunity.

Fish Fry – Don’t forget to put the WLS Fish Fry on your calendar for next Friday, March 13th. We will be serving from 4:30 – 8:00.  Bring your family and invite your friends.

National Lutheran Schools Week – We had a lot of fun with all of our extra activities this past week during NLSW. Thank you to the PTL for starting our week off with a continental breakfast on Monday. Thanks also to all those who helped make this a special week.

WLS Association Meeting – We will be having the WLS Association meeting this Sunday, March 8th, at 4:00 in the WLS gym.  Please keep in mind March 8th is Daylight Savings Time, so adjust your clocks.  This is a very important meeting, so please plan to attend.

Book Fair at WLS -  Don’t forget on Wednesday, March 11-13 and also during the Fish Fry, we will be having our annual Book Fair.  This is how our school gets new books for the library.

Chapel News -  Next Wednesday’s chapel service, March 11, will be held at WLS at 8:10 a.m. Pastor Adams will lead.  Chapel offerings for the months of February and March will be designated to Hope Center in Fort Wayne.  Don’t forget to fill the baby bottles up with spare change and bring them into the school office.

Zion Youth Group - Attention  7th & 8th Graders

Our next gathering will be Sunday, March 15, at 4:00 pm at Eric & Marsha Armbruster’s house. More details to follow in next week’s Paw Prints.  Bring a friend! We hope to see everyone there to share the news.

Recycling -  Saturday, March 21, is the monthly recycling from 9-12.  Scheduled workers are:   Lucas Scharr, Tyler Knapp, Kendra Sinclair, Allison Messman, Spencer Osborn, and the following plus a parent; Gavin Keller, Caroline Hoeppner, Cheyenne Hoeppner, Madison Swanson, Buddy Douglas, Devin Hoeppner.

All WLS children in grades K-8 will be singing at Christ at 10:30 and Zion at 9:00 as part of National Lutheran Schools Week.  Please sit with your parents until called forward to sing.

Thank you to Bob and Loraine Buuck for the wonderful gift to all the WLS staff.  We all appreciate you thinking of us.
