    Our Mission is Fishin’

Prayer Cards – We have finished up with all of our student prayer cards for this year. We continue to pray for all of our students daily and also for the future of WLS.

2009 – 2010 Staff – The WLS School Board has finalized the WLS staff for next school year. They include: Emma Hockemeyer, Arlys Staub, Linda Schlie, Karen Hoeppner, Ruth Schroeder, and Scott Staub. The Board and these teachers are working on scheduling and class assignments and will have all of that information tentatively ready for the Parent Information Meeting on Monday, April 13th. Continue to pray for WLS and the changes we are all working on for the 2009/2010 school year.

Registration Continues – Our WLS registration is continuing for next school year for grades Pre-K to 6th grade. Stop in the office for any forms or information that you may need.

Wrestling Season Ends – The wrestling season ended with the LSAA Championships at Wyneken last Saturday. WLS ended up with two champions, Sam Hathaway and Spencer Osborn. Shawn Kitzmiller also received a second place and Billy Wilkes a fourth place awards. We congratulate the whole team on their hard work. Thanks again to Brian Kitzmiller for coaching the team this season and also to Joel Buuck for assisting.

Meijer Community Rewards Program – This is an easy money maker for the school.  If you shop at Meijer stop in at the school office, sign up when you visit Meijer  next, or you can even sign up on line at www.meijer.com/rewards.  The organization code is 722806. Fill this in and the school receives money any time you shop!  If you sign up for a Meijer credit card the school earns a higher percentage.   We just received a check from Meijer for $127.79 for this program.  Thank you to all who participate in this program.

Spring Flower SalesOur annual Spring Plant Sale began this week as a fundraiser for WLS.  We are selling scrips to purchase flowers and plants at discounted prices from the Greenhouse Effect, which is located just across the state line – a quick 10 minute drive.  We’re pleased to be able to reduce our prices this year, thanks to our friends at the Greenhouse Effect.   If you need additional order forms click here, stop in the office or call and we can send one home.   For any questions, call Susan Gerig or Deb Lindberg.

Mark your calendars for May 1st -  Pastor J. Brown will be presenting a Karate Demonstration, Motivational Message, and Gospel Presentation through Breaking Barriers – Christian Martial Arts Ministry.  Everyone (students, youth, parents, grandparents, neighbors, etc…) is invited and it will be held at WLS gym.  Presentation is from 7:00pm to 8:00pm but come early to enjoy the playground and basketball court if it is nice out.  To learn more about Pastor J.
