Walking in the Light
Prayer Cards – Each
morning our teachers meet for devotions as we prepare for our day. We also
regularly pray for our students. The students we will be praying for next week
will be: Madison Smith (Pre-K), Meredith Mathews (1st), Emma Rekeweg
(Kind.), and Nathan Wiedemann (8th).
Basketball Season Ends –
Our varsity boys’ season came to an end this past Monday with a 27-35 loss to
Central Lutheran School in the first round of the tournament. We congratulate
the boys on a good season and for representing WLS well during the season.
Thanks to head coach, Tony Stites, and to assistant coaches Todd Wiedemann and
Joel Buuck. Thanks also to our girls’ cheerleading team and their coach, Susan
Gerig, for their support throughout the season.
Wrestling Season –
Yesterday Grades 4-8 boys received information and a wrestling practice
schedule. Practice will begin next Monday, January 29, from 6-7:45 p.m.,
with a Parent Meeting scheduled from 7:30-7:45. Parents are asked to attend this
meeting, especially the parents of first-year wrestlers. This is
another great opportunity for the boys in grades 4 – 8 to represent WLS during
this exciting season. Many of the eligible boys do not have their wrestling fee
paid ($20), and a few do not have a physical exam form on file; both of which
need to be taken care of before your son begins practice. If you are not
sure about your son’s status regarding the fee and the exam form, please call
the school secretary at 632-5493.
