PAW PRINTS
JANUARY 16, 2009

    Our Mission is Fishin’

Prayer Cards - Each morning our teachers meet for devotions as we prepare for our day. We also regularly pray for each of our students. The students we prayed for this week included: Madison Smith (K), Jordan Wells (4), Aryssa Nobles (PK), and Nicole Osborn (3).

Zion Voters’ Meeting – Most of you have probably heard that Zion Lutheran Church will take a vote this Sunday to see if they feel they are financially able to continue to be part of the WLS Association. Please keep all of the Zion members and leaders in your prayers. This is an important decision that they will be making. Whatever their decision, this does not mean that WLS is closing; it may mean that there will need to be additional changes to the staff and to the grade levels offered. Once they have made their decision, we will let everyone know what that will mean for WLS and our next school year.

End of the 2nd Quarter – Report cards will come out next Monday, January 19th. Parents who would like to have a conference with their child’s teacher may request one on a form that will be coming home with the report cards.

JV Basketball – Our girls finished their season this past Monday with a game against Central Lutheran. It was by far the most exciting game of the season. Central managed to pull out a victory right at the end of the game. We congratulate our girls for their effort and we thank the coaches for working with the girls all season and helping them to improve.

Our boys lost to Central on Monday as well. Their Wednesday night game needed to be cancelled due to the weather, so they may have three games next week to finish off their season.

Chapel News -  Next Wednesday’s chapel service, January 21, will be held at Christ (weather permitting)  at 8:15 a.m. Pastor Edwards will lead.  Chapel offerings for the months of December and January will be designated to Lutheran Blind Mission.
