Our Mission is Fishin’
Prayer Cards - Each
morning our teachers meet for devotions as we prepare for our day. We also
regularly pray for our students and each school family. The students we prayed
for this week included our 8th grade graduates from last year,
Elizabeth Burke, Logan Buuck, Caleb Hathaway, Lily Keller, Jon Lindberg, Josh
Maroney, Andy Meyer, and Hannah Stevenson.
School Pictures – Mark
Monday, September 15th, down as the day we will have school pictures
taken. More information will be coming home about Picture Day and the cost of
the different picture packages.
ISTEP Testing – The week
of September 15 will also be the week that we take the Fall ISTEP test for the
last time. If you remember the news from last year, the state of Indiana is
moving from fall testing to spring testing. Because this is the transition year,
we will actually take the ISTEP test in both the fall and the spring.
Fog Days – This is just
a reminder that if/when we have a Fog Day, we will follow East Allen. If they
call for a 2 hour delay, we will be delayed 2 hours as well. If they extend the
delay to a full school dismissal, we will not have school either. If there is a
2-hour delay on a Wednesday, instead of the 2:15 dismissal, our students will be
dismissed at the regular time of 2:45.
WLS Web Site – Don’t
forget to check out our WLS web site at
www.wlsedu.org. If you ever miss a Paw Prints newsletter or want to look up
an old article, they are always posted on the web site. We thank Eric Lindberg
for keeping this updated.
Labor Day – There is no
school next Monday, September 1st, as we observe Labor Day.
4th, 5th,
and 6th JV Volleyball Matches – The volleyball season will begin
next Thursday, Sept. 4th, with an away match at Unity beginning at
4:15. Our first home match will be Monday, Sept. 8th, at 4:15 against
St. Pauls. Check the Paw Prints for future matches and come out to cheer our
young girls on if you can.
Little Blessings Is Growing!
- Little Blessings Daycare has a part-time job opportunity in the
infant/toddler room. Help is needed on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. We are
looking for fun, loving, and reliable people to join our growing staff. Call
Little Blessings at 632-4679 ext. 103 for more information.
Shop For A Cause - A
special day of celebration and savings at Macy’s will be held on Saturday,
September 20th. Purchase a $5.00 ticket from WLS PTL and save 10-20%
off of items. All proceeds go to the WLS PTL. In addition you can enter for a
chance to win a $500.00 Macy’s shopping spree. Tickets will be sold at Christ
and Zion churches after the Sunday morning services. If you have any questions
