Fully Rely On God

      F.R.O.G.

Text Box: WOODBURN LUTHERAN SCHOOL
PAW PRINTS
AUGUST 28, 2009

Are you able to remain on task 24 hours/day, 7 days/week?  We’re human – we get distracted, tired, we forget, our minds wander.  Jesus, gives His undivided attention to us 24/7!!  It’s comforting to know He is always with our children at WLS! No distractions or forgetfulness; never tired! They are precious to Him!

That’s how we can Fully Rely On God!

PTL NEWS - The PTL Board is in need of one volunteer to fill a board vacancy for the upcoming school year.  If you are interested in helping out,

please contact

Kris Meyer @ 632-5508.

School-wide Field Trip   WLS will be traveling to Indianapolis to visit the King Tut exhibit at the Children’s Museum on September 3.  Leaving at 8:00ish, returning at 5:00ish.  If you wish to join, contact the office.

Come Grow With Us!

DID YOU KNOW –   Woodburn Lutheran School students have shown an excellent academic achievement at Woodlan High School.  Less than 10% of the students at Woodlan are WLS graduates, yet they make up 30% of the past Valedictorians and Salutatorians at Woodlan High School since 1986. Plus, 5 of the top 10 students in the graduating class of 2009 at Woodlan also graduated from WLS!

(Watch for more wonderful bits of information about WLS for you to share with neighbors and friends.)

WEATHER – Be sure to tune into the radio, television or internet to keep informed of any school delays or closings.  WLS follows EACS (East Allen County Schools).  Fog will be rolling in soon!

YOUTH BASKETBALL – WLS needs a coordinator for this program.  Duties entail creating teams, finding coaches, finding a scorekeeper, scheduling “refs” and enjoy! If interested, please call the office!

Week 1 Challenge:  How many men did King Nebuchadnezzar see walking around in a fiery furnace?

            Daniel 3:25

The answer will be revealed in next

                      week’s Paw Prints

PRESCHOOL FUNDRAISER – Each spring, WLS holds a Rummage Sale to raise money for the Caitlyn Pyle Scholarship Fund and the Preschool.  This fall, Saturday, September 19, we are putting a spin on things.  We will host a Rummage Sale again; however, it will be a multi-seller Sale!  You rent a table/space for $10 and receive a Seller Number.  All purchases are made at one cashier who tracks each Seller’s sales.  At the end of the day a percentage of your sales are donated to these efforts and you take the rest!  How easy is that!?  Now you don’t have to worry about cleaning up the garage or what you’ll do in the event of rain!  Call today to reserve your table/space!

SUNDAY SCHOOL will be starting again September 13th at Christ Lutheran Church in Woodburn.  Sunday School is from 9:15am to 10:15am every Sunday morning.  Parents are always welcome to stay or can enjoy the Adult Bible Class which occurs at the same time.  Sunday School is for students age 3 through college age.  Confirmation class will occur at the same time for 7th & 8th graders wishing to be confirmed.  There are at least two teachers for each classroom, a music director, and two helpers.  We have a lot of activities planned like singing, Bible time & activities, crafts, friendship day, balloon launch, Christmas program, and much more.  Come one Sunday or all Sundays.  Friends are ALWAYS welcome! Call or email Dana Klopfenstein with any comments, questions, or concerns:  410-2750 or danaklop@verizon.net.
