Fully Rely On God
F.R.O.G.

Our theme for the new school year is based on Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is
being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” We will
learn how men and women of God acted by faith and relied on God for everything!
We will learn how we, too, can rely on God and His love for us through every
situation in life! The first let of each word in our theme spells the word
frog, so watch for ways in which frogs can remind us of our theme!

year.

Everyone is welcome to visit school
on Wednesday mornings for chapel. Services begin after the bus arrives and
classrooms get organized, about 8:10. Check the weekly Paw Prints for the
location and speaker. Chapel offerings received in August and September will go
to Dave and Beth Hoeppner, who will be here next week to tell us about their
mission work in India. Watch for chapel envelopes to come home on Tuesdays.

the King Tut exhibit at the Children’s Museum on September 3. Watch for more

chaperone, let us know. We have extra free tickets available.
Harlan Parade
– Many thanks to all of the students and parents who marched with us in the
Harlan Days’ Parade the beginning of this month. We had a great day marching and
handing out fliers and candy. It is good to let others in our communities know
more about WLS.
Bussing –
We apologize for all the confusion and
inconvenience caused by the Transportation overload! Almost all of our students
made the Bus Route List, with just a few that will be added soon. Also, please
make certain to inform the teachers of the kids’ after school plans – ride the
bus, walk, Crosswalk, get picked up, etc.
School Calendar –
The school calendar mailed home with registration
paperwork needs a few corrections. Collaboration Days begin Wednesday,
September 2 and continue through the school year. Please note that the February
dates reflect Thursdays! It should read February 3, 10, 17 & 24. Students will
be released at 2:15 on Collaboration Day/Wednesdays. Also, the calendar shows
late arrival days on Thursdays. EACS/WLS will NOT have any scheduled late
arrival days this school year.

Thank you –
I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank
everyone that has helped me make this huge transition! I am so blessed to be
here! For those of you that do not know me, I am a WLS grad (1984), a WHS grad
(1988) and a BSU grad (1992). I hold an Indiana State Teaching License, grades
1-6 along with a Computers Endorsement. I taught 3rd grade for one
year on a temporary contract for FWCS and then hired in at GTE until I was able
to fill another teaching position. Through the power of the Holy Spirit,
fifteen years later, I volunteered to be laid off from Verizon to return to the
field of education. I have faith the Lord will bless my work at WLS and will
provide me with the ability to lead more people to Christ and also to Woodburn
Lutheran School.
Your sister in Christ, Teresa Warnock
